At Vision Center LTD, we have been providing quality eye care in the Shelton community for more than 30 years. The office is headed by Dr. Clinton McLean who graduated from the University of New England College of Optometry Medicine and has more than 40 years of experience in the field. Together, the team offers a variety of services including everything from exams to myopia control.

Dr. Clinton McLean
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. McLean graduated from Fairfield University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1979. Dr. McLean is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and has been serving Shelton and the surrounding community for over 35 years.

Dr. McLean enjoys seeing patients of all ages in his family-oriented practice and specializes in the advanced treatment and management of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye disease, and macular degeneration. He is always striving to advance his skills and knowledge to offer personalized eye care to all his patients. He has completed courses in Advanced Surgical Procedures and Laser Therapy to treat various eye conditions. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. He is also the owner of Waterbury Eye Associates. He lives in Seymour, CT with his wife and 2 daughters.
Dr. Bijal Desai
Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Desai is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular & Cell Biology. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Illinois College of Optometry in 2013. During her optometric training, she completed internships in Ocular Disease, Pediatrics & Low Vision. She practiced full-scope optometry in Rockford, IL & San Diego, CA prior to joining Vision Center Ltd in Shelton in 2017.

As a primary eye care provider, Dr. Desai utilizes our office’s latest technology to diagnose and manage a variety of eye conditions including dry eye, eye infections and injuries, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She offers comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings for patients of all ages. Dr. Desai is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. She lives in Shelton with her husband and daughter. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys traveling, baking and trying out new recipes, and spending time with her family.
